Volunteer Updates
Becoming an active volunteer in the Project and Program community is a plus factor for any individual that wants to contribute back towards junior members and its also a showcase for your talents. IAPPM has immediate volunteer opportunities available to members and non-members in support of the Leadership to strengthen its operational role in this evolving profession. Serving in one of these volunteer roles will provide you an opportunity to actively participate in IAPPM. This is a chance to really put something back into project and program management community. We need you!
IAPPM’s volunteer leaders are the ones who drive the components, interface with new members, launch and manage local initiatives and really represent IAPPM to the world of individual PM practitioners and organizations. IAPPM has generally done a good job in recognizing its volunteer leaders, through good-shows and awards.
Projects In Process
Trends in Project Management: A Practical Perspective - This practical guideline document project is being led by Kevin Wegryn, PMP, CPM. Kevin is one of our senior project members and brings extensive project management experience to the table and has been leading successful projects for over 12 years. This project will examine the current trends, including critical success factors in making everyday projects work! - target date is October 2004.

IAPPM Project & Program Management Best Practices - Led by our Canadian Chapter President - Michael Kamel, CPM - we are now at the stage of soliciting industry opinion on what academics and the project community consider best practices. A database is being created to poll industry leaders and members and within time this will form the basis for a world-class document.

We still have opportunities currently in the following areas (document development)
Project Management Office (PMO) Best Standards & Industry Practices
Project Processes and Best Practices
Local chapter creation and recruitment in your state or country
Writing articles (are you an aspiring writer?) get recognition through IAPPM
